Psyllium Harvest Update

The new psyllium husk harvest in India is well underway, with full-scale arrivals to the production sites expected from the first week of April. Due to the low pricing for the past 2 years, early sowing reports indicated that farmers planted about 20% less psyllium in the current season. To some degree this could be compensated by some carry-over volume of last year. However, crop development faced challenging conditions, as temperatures reached around 40°C – slightly above optimal levels, and just last weekend unexpected rainfall, strong winds, and a sudden drop in temperatures have further disrupted the crop, with estimates suggesting that an additional 10% has been affected. In total we might see up to 30% decrease of yields in the current season. While the harvest progresses and clearer yield data becomes available, the market is already experiencing some price rises due to the predicted weather conditions with both producers and buyers keeping a close eye on what’s happening next.

Introducing Organic Fava Bean Powder

Organic fava bean protein isolate (up to 90% protein) is a strong plant-based alternative to traditional options like pea protein. It’s packed with iron, potassium and magnesium.
It acts as a versatile, allergen-free ingredient with a mild, neutral flavour, commonly used in nutritional shakes, baking, and for thickening sauces.
Available in both EU and Chinese origin, it is the perfect substitute for other protein powders that might get subjected to high custom taxes during 2026.

Shipping Update!

Logistics have become increasingly complex. Previously, sea freight from India to Europe took 22–28 days via the Suez route. Due to ongoing disruptions, vessels are now rerouting around the Cape of Good Hope, adding 15–20 days, with a further 7–10 days of global scheduling delays. At the same time, rising insurance costs and additional carrier surcharges have significantly increased overall freight rates.
As a result, we anticipate average shipment delays of around 30 days from Asia (India, China, Sri Lanka).

DC Chips & Coconut Sugar

Coconut sugar and dessicated coconut (DC)chips prices rose in 2025 due to severe weather-related production shortages in key regions like Indonesia and the Philippines, combined with high demand for organic products. Global supply constraints and new 2025 tariffs further pressured prices. We are happy to see market prices slowly going down.
