The Goji Berry Harvest
The Tibetan plateaus in Western China have an elevation of up to 3,500 meters – our organic goji berries mature in this sunny and yet cool climate all the way through September and October. Some cold spells shortened the picking window in some regions. But despite the delay, the growth was good, and yield is comparable to the previous year. This led to a moderate price increase earlier in the season but prices are expected to now remain stable at this level.
Our goji berries are cultivated in the pristine, remote region of Qinghai – covering most of the Tibetan plateau and over 1.000 km from China’s cities or industries. The berries are handpicked, carefully washed and dried using a combination of natural sun-drying and controlled oven techniques. This helps preserve their rich colour and powerful nutritional content.
